Alas, I am married ...
And you are right, these women strive to do everything in their own way.
But about charging the battery in the bathroom remains fragile truce, because in half of the cases it is the battery from her Ford.

Oldblue I had a MGB though I don't remember the year that was 37 years ago and I didn't member that about the battery. I traded the B on a 77 924Porsche. Man I have had too many different cars. Though I still like convertibles, it is nice to have one back.

Yours might have been converted to one single 12 volt battery.

It seems like it was converted but I am not sure, it has been too many years.

Lucas. Is it true that they invented the WWII blackouts, or did people turn their headlights off on purpose?

I have owned 7 British Cars with Lucas electrics and the only problem I ever had was on my first A H Sprite MK 1 also known as a Bugeye, and that was because of the previous owner switching the Car from positive ground to negative ground to put a radio in. The gauges wouldn't work properly. The sad thing is there was a positive -negative switch on the back of the radio. I flipped the switch turned the battery around and everything worked.
