I've read here about broken interior door handles and the requirement to purchase an entire door panel from GM, rather than being able to purchase a handle assm. alone.
It would seem inevitable that all interior handles will eventually fail....my question for those that have successfully repaired failed handles would be, for those of us that have not yet experienced a broken handle, is it possible to reinforce unbroken handles with epoxy and or other methods as to prevent a future failure or these handles??
Any input is much appreciated.

What? Saw your question concerning about broken interior door handles breaking, and that you can't just order the handle - you have to order the whole door trim panel and you get the handle with it....

I thought somebody must be misinformed...

Checked my collision parts database, and sure enough, you can't get an interior door handle by itself - it comes integral with the entire door trim panel. ?????

I've been in collision damage estimating since 1978 and I've never heard of this before.....

Normally, an interior door release handle is attached to the inner metal of the soor shell itself, and the trim panel fits over, or around, it.

Seems like a funny design to me.....

Guess we should al lbe gentle with our door handles....

I recently replaced my interior doorhandle from an EBAY posting www.AutoPartsDirect2You.com for $75.60. The item came with full instructions and the necessary drill bit for the installation. It works.

I search ebay all the time for HHR parts and deals, and I see them on there quite a bit. Granted, they were probably taken off a wreck, but if you really need them- so what!
