Changing the Oil Filter

While I still am in the seventies of oil life I am preparing for the initial oil change. I looked over the engine yesterday evening and I believe that the oil filter assembly is on the right side of the engine block by what looks like possibily the ac compressor. It is an aluminum piece with a black cap that fit a 1 1/4" socket. I can find no mention anywhere in the manual of where the filter is contained nor pictures. Can my guess be confirmed? The engine is a 2.0 but since all the HHR engines take the same filter I suspect that the filter containers are also the same. Thanks

Terrific!!

More information than I could hope for and very well done. I don't have a 32 metric but my 1 1/4 US fit the hex nob perfectly. I'm good to go. Thanks
