Counter balance sprocket tool

Counter balance sprocket tool

....seems lot of folks are having trouble getting those bolts loose like i was...
I may need to make a tool...better version of what i did using the okd chain to lock it from rotating....

....one of them “round to it’s”

I just use the 5/16 drift to place in the hole and engage the teeth of the sprocket, I suppose a chain vide grip might work also

I just lowered the engine a bit on the jack. You have to to get that water pump bolt out, so that’s when I have the room to get in there.

I lowered mine too....until it was against the sub frame....punch was to long...about 4-5”....so i used the old chain and vise grips to hold it. OCD...so the new gears had to go on...lol

GM says don't remove the sprockets, remove the shafts. Shouldn't need replacing.
