Does powertrain warranty include shift linkage?

My SS 5spd is stuck in second gear. Before I have it towed to the dealer, I'd like to be sure the shifter and linkage are covered under the powertrain warranty. Anyone know? Took a quick look through the manual and didn't see that kind of detail (maybe I missed it).

2010-current GM 5yr/100k Powertrain Warranty

Which seems to suggest that some items may have been added as of 2012 (retroactive to 2010). Either way, I don't see the shifter cables on either list (unless they're called something else). Disappointing.

I guess you didn't read that whole thread. One of the posts noted the updates to the 2010 models. Had a updated GM time of 9/09.
The info was supplied by ChevyMgr a former admin here who was at a dealership at that time.

As far as your problem. If you feel it's a cable issue, take off the shifter covers and have a look. There have been a few incidents where the shifter cable has been known to pop out of the bracket just in front of the shifter.
It may just be a case of popping it back in place and zip tying it down.

You could also try a Search. I know there was a thread a good while back that had some pictures of the cables and bracket.

edit: try this link.Post #3 has a good photo.
