Because I am a very vindictive, revengeful person. I would check with your "common pleas", justice or small claims court (whatever they are called in Michigan). For a small fee, usually $10-$20, you can file a claim for damages against her and have her appear in court to answer the claim. No lawyers are needed and the claim cannot exceed a maximum amount.

I have used this system 3 times and always had the case adjudicated in my favor. It's really about inconveniencing the other party for being such a jerk !!!
