Question Exact "touch up paint" for HHR

Hi How do I get the exact touch up paint for road nicks and "badges" on my HHR. The color I have is burgandy and I want to fill in the nicks before the rains come in Northern California.

Am very happy with my hhr But got my first speeding ticket ever on HWY 29

....

...my car really "stands out" around here every second vehicle is a truck.

Mine is always gleaming and clean....sticks out like a sore thumb!!!

Love this site...astonmartin7

First off ... to the best site

I got my touchup paint at the dealer. One of those little bottles with a brush and a ball point pen tip runs about $10. Just tell them model, year and color or have the color code and they should have it for you within a week. Otherwise you'll have to go to the local auto store and try to find the Duplicolor match.

Actually you have Sport Red Metallic. Same color as I have. As GCarp said, you will have to go to the dealer for the paint, and it's $10. I looked at every parts store around and no one had this color. The part # is 12346661 and the code is 63. I got that info off my bottle of touch up paint. Hope it helps.

I keep my car as claen as I can also, and when Sport Red Metallic is clean and waxed, it does really pop.

Yep dealer..the Golden Teal or "Traverse Blue" as GM calls it was an exact match for my HHR color and that color is not easy to duplicate

Ther are many online sources. Do a search for automotive touch up paint. You can get can, brush or pen. Keep in mind you will need the base coat and a clear coat in most cases.

Do you have a part number or a paint code?

Yup, small bottle of touch up lacquer, as posted above can be brushed on(a la fingernail polish) or in 'pen' mode. Just picked up one at the dealer after cleaning the road grime. Found a cpl zoinkers on the hood. Haven't used it yet, but color is matched to my imperial blue. Also had my Lili in tow, got her a pink flame chevy bowtie knit hat.
Good luck.
