Today is the first full day of driving the rental 2008 HHR LS on Maryland and Virigina back roads and freeways. Put 105 miles on the car today. Went up to 85 MPH and also got stuck in horrid stop-and-go traffic. Drove up and down hills. Braked hard to avoid a deer (or a wart hog, not sure which one...it was very dark )

My initial observation: The 2.2 engine really surprised me; it has plenty of power. Brakes worked great. The roll on turns was not pronounced in a negative way whatsoever. The heater worked quickly and well. Bottom line on the first day: VERY positive.
