HHR Pet Peeves
1) want the seat to sit lower (I like the gansta glass but I'm 6'3")
2) already replaced the door pulls (ford part)
3) replaced the antenna with a stubby
4) Those are drink holders? No use unless I like reaching behind me or have someone with a big butt with me!
5) I want auto down on BOTH windows (I drive a panel) and auto up function (come on smart guys someone made one for the MINIs and made a killing)
6) The plastic is cheezy and scratches way too easy
7) steering wheel controls are way too small and or close together

Actually the Mini was far from the first vehicle to have em. The Auto-up feature is a pretty common feature in alot of cars now. My 2001 VW GTI has it as well as Auto-down and all VW's had it all the way back to at least 1998. I believe VW's had Auto-down on their cars back as far as 1993.
Might as well kick in my nickel. How about some side mirrors that fold flush to the body like other vehicle, not just fold the short distance that they do which doesn't gain you much space when in a garage.
I am a Service Tech and use my car for work, so I'm in the car a lot. So all of my pet peeves are ****pit related.
1. I am 6'1" and I whish the seats where lower so I could see out of the front window.
2. The arm rest are to low, to narrow and to close to the seat,
3. The window control location should be in the door,
4. The door lock stems are to tall and should be by the release handle.
5. I have an LS and the factory stero and speakers are the worst I have ever used.
6. The cup holders. need I say more.
7. I have a 5 speed trany and the shift lever knob feels like a knobby rock.
8. The rear door not having a normal latch really makes me nervious. I keep all my work parts back there and not being able to get them would be very very bad.
Now I have or will be able to fix a lot of these problems over time. Already replaced the shifter knob, have a replacement head unit and door lock post on order. But the rest of it I don't know.
I will say I love the way the car drives and and the good fuel mileage.

I'm 5'5" and everything fits me perfectly. Since my last two cars were beemers I'm already used to the gas cap and window switch locations so they don't bother me at all. The plastic scratches way too easily and all the other stuff is kind of annoying I suppose but, come on peeps, this is not a high-end car, it's a low end Chevy. Yes, it is. If you paid 30K+ for a car you'd certainly never have these problems. Factoring all of the great options along with the style it's a pretty sweet little ride.
I think the lack of cluster gear indicator is the main one - I'm just surprised it's not there.
The other petpeve is I wish the main plastic interior parts were more scratch resistant...or maybe I should have held out for an ebony interior =)
OH - I don't get why the 2007 DIC doesn't have what the 2008 DICs do, especially since my 2003 Monte Carlo had all of those and more...and that was 2003!

I voted visor height
The front visor is a little low and I have to stoop over a little sometimes to see traffic lights. Other than that I love my HHR and that one little issue is no big deal. I do wish my car would have come with the auto darkening mirror option but they wanted like $275 to upgrade it and it is not worth that much!
This is a great little car with good gas mileage and looks good for an econo car.
Since I got my HHR I rarely drive my 4 door 1 ton Dually Chevy. My dually has been the best vehicle I ever bought. I use it for my business and I have ran 75 miles an hour for 24 hours non stop (except for hitting most every gas station!) pulling 14,000 lbs and that truck never whimpered or any problems. My HHR is now my daily driver and I like it. Still have to use my truck for hauling 4 or 5 times a year but save more than enough in gas to make the car payment if I had one.

The "D" pillars are way too thick. One of the reasons that I like wagon type vehicles is the outward visiblity but those pillars are way bigger than needed.I think GM over reacted to roof crush standards. Those standards are why the headliner is so low, cutting down the view out the windshield(thick pillars).
