HHR Pricing

I was hoping to keep my HHR for at least two years beyond when it is paid off. But, Lord help me - if one more thing goes wrong with it I may be getting rid of it sooner than I would like. Don't get me wrong, I love the style and room - that is why I bought it. But I never expected it to have so many reoccurring problems. You would think with all of the competition out there for the small SUV market that GM would at least try to make a quality product. I have already made up my mind that if I have to get rid of the HHR - I'm buying a Kia Soul (Alien Green or Java). Amazing thing is the price differences you find from Kelly Blue Book and Edmund's TMV. For my HHR these are the numbers I have come up with.

Kelly Blue Book Values
Trade In - $7,225
Private Party - $8,690
Dealer Retail - $10,265

Edmund’s TMV
Trade In - $6,826
Private Party - $8,037
Dealer Retail - $9,023

Trade in values on anything these days are really bad. Dealers will compare to auction prices and not care about condition so much. Mods are "worthless" to them, of course when they sell it that's the first thing they mention......

Best bet is to sell it out right. Dealer's don't generally give you good money. Kia soul, although I don't like them' received good marks from CR. Sound's like kia has a winner. I LOOVE the new optima's.

That's a fact! I don't think they want used HHR's on their lots, for some odd reason. I really got beat up when I traded my '07...but the pricing on the '10's was so good it didn't make much of a difference.

I'm hoping this last trip into the shop has corrected the issue I have been having. After putting the rear sway bar on it been a freaking blast to drive. I still have about a year and a half to pay on it, so I know I will be keeping it at least that long (hopefully longer). I would really hate to get rid of it - if I did I would loss my reason for being on this forum. I enjoy the shared enthusiasm for this vehicle that everyone has.
