I also believe the ifpress article, that is mentioned, is somewhat erroneous. The sales figures quoted MUST be incorrect........

The article is dated January, 2006.
The first year of HHR's is 2006.
They went on sale about August of 2005.
Article states that 120,000 units have been sold?
From model release to date of article = 5 months approximately
Information from another website, states total annual 2006 HHR sales = 85,000

So, I would say, huh????

I did completely misunderstand the original post being "august 2007"

I was right though someone was way off, unfortunately it was me!

Additional sales info from GM web site

Total production of the HHR for 2005 and all of 2006 142,309.
YTD as of August 31 2007 72,153 units.
YTD as of August 31 2006 75,448 units.
These figures show this year behind 2006 by 3,295 units.
By these figures it would be difficult to reach 120,000 units for the year.

I think the numbers are down in '07 because you could buy an '06 and get the extended warranty but not lose the initial amount. Surely they'll go up when the SS becomes available.

I can drive anywhere down here and see several HHRs sharing the road with me. It funny because the dealers never have more than 4 on their lots at any one time. I'm thinking military transferring in here and tourist account for many of them. Either way, I'm glad to see more of them and hope more mods are available soon.

Alan....

I think, if you look at that article again, you will notice it will be a little misleading as well. For example......

"total production of the HHR for 2005 and ALL of 2006 142,309"....will also include production of the 2007 models for the last 5 months of 2006. Likewise, the YTD as of August 31, 2007 production numbers would not include those produced in that last several months of 2006. And ditto for the YTD as of August 2006 numbers. Of course, this only applies if you are attempting to determine the REAL TOTAL production of a specific year of vehicle. So really, total production of the 2007 HHR's COULD reach 120,000.

Snoopy as I stated these numbers are from the GM site not an article in a magazine. As far as a specific model year run it does not break it down that way
The only way that a production year can be determined is knowing when the actual start date is and the actual end date is.
No matter how you determine it I don't think it will reach 120,000 units for 2007 model year.

Oh, ok......a matter of semantics

But, my point was....that with the info you provided there is no way to recognize how many HHR's were produced for the 2007 year run. I was just trying to provide some clarity to what you posted.

But actually, now that I look at it, MAYBE they COULD produce 120,000 HHR's for the 2007 MODEL YEAR.

Using numbers from your post...
YTD August 2007 = 72,153 divided by 8 months = approx. 9000 X 5 months of 2006 production (of 07 models) = 45,000. 72,000 + 45,000 =117,000....pretty close (but, I actually doubt it as well. Since 2007 sales of HHR's have been behind 2006's).

I have been checking the sales numbers since I got my HHR and they are behind the 2006 numbers every month. I think I read some where that the number of cars sold to rental fleets was reduced for 2007 model year. If that is the case
that means that there are more HHR's in the hands of private owners this year.

Sorry Kingfrog...
I make my living building the autotrans for these fine cars. If they become a low volume unit, I get laid off and don't make my regular wages...Just like trying to sell ice cream in December.
