Well ............... how about this from the 2008 HHR Owners Manual

HHR SS
The power window controls are located on each of the side doors. The driver's door also has switches that control the passenger and rear windows. Press the switch to lower the window. Pull up on the front edge of the switch to raise the window.

Looks like they are changing a few things that SOME owners are concerned about.

Oh man, I was just starting to get used to the location of the window switches!!

Sounds like they are also changing the switch itself. Sounds like they are putting in a similar switch to the ones on some of my friends japanese cars. I've never liked those switches but I'm just not used to pulling them up to close the window. I guess if I had them I would get used to them.

Those are the only types of switches being used when the switch is on the door panel. Safety reasons. To many children and some (ahem) adults were getting themselves in quite a jam while hanging out the windows. This way if you accidently push down the button the window will not go up. With the switches in the middle of the "waterfall" there would be no need to be concerned with this.

Thanks, but I will just keep NEMO maybe a 2006, but I will keep just the same!
I know where the switches are, even if the other half still unlocks the door while the car is in motion, and then he remembers where they are.

Why would they change the window switches only on the SS? That makes no sense. That would only raise costs.

I looked at the 08 brochure and the shifter LOOKS like it is located farther forward in the SS than in the other HHR's. The storage bin looks to be in the area where the window switches used to be. Maybe because of the new powertrain, they had to make alterations and relocated the shifter, which in turn sent the power window switch location to the doors. That's my theory.

Are the window switches going to be on the vertical door panel or on the horizontal armrest. Switches on the armrest really take a beating in the rain down here. I prefer the center location of the switches mainly because they'll never get wet.

So, will the SS be offered in yellow or not? If not, who do I call to request it? If this color is available on other models, why not the HHR SS?

it's not available at all, Sandy, on any HHR model.

if my avatar fooled you, it's only a white HHR photoshopped to yellow...
