2009 SL, basic model with no bells or whistles, it has 98,500. I've only had it a couple months, so I don't know its earlier history. I bought it because the price was fair, and the body is tight with no rattles. The steering is real tight which seems unusual to me, a Chevy with a few years on it. It has a clean Carfax, and I like to use Pennzoil High Mileage oil. I love this little car. It gets better mileage than I expected - around 22 in town, and 32-36 highway depending on how heavy my foot is.

Judging by sounds on bumps, I'll be needing some front end work this year. Not pressing at this time. The brakes are original, they checked out fine. The only issues I have are that the traction control light flashes occasionally, and the airbag light has flashed once. Otherwise, trouble free so far.

I am at 119,xxx. Only problems i have had have been.
Throttle body before 20,000 miles and losing the reverse/low range
band in the trans at 97,xxx. maintence items such as oil and filter, wheel bearing
hub on driver side, tires ,and break pads up front once the Oem ones were worn out.
Just replaced the rear shoes at 118,xxx miles.
With what i throw at my HHr I am more than happy with her. !

 

108K. Still the original brake pads, even with having to grind them smooth after picking up gravel! Radio, antenna, base and coax. One outside mirror, one visor, one front bearing (all under warranty or ESP, with $0 deductible). Lots of speakers (some warranty, some not). Sway bar (?) bushings.

Oh, there was that small thing about the transmission (see my "surging" thread).

 

You mean 'original brake rotors' not 'pads', right? (Especially the fronts)

 

And so .. 100 000 miles yesterday.
Happy or sad - I have not yet decided.
On my odometer is now more than 265 000 kilometers. If subtract 100,000 kilometers (I added it at the border to save on customs duties), I have a real 100,000 miles.
My car HHR LT 2006 2.4 is still cheerful and happy. Of course, some of the wounds on the body. The suspension and shock absorbers need to be replaced. But the engine is still young, normal compression. My Hippo in full blossom, and does not give cause for concern.

 

190,000 miles now 11 months later no issues or major problems, still running like a champ!

 

I have over 186,600 miles on my '06 2.4L LS LE5. Still getting over 30 mpg on the highway and averaging about 25 mpg combined. I'm looking for at least 250,000 before I start doing anything drastic.

 

Try replacing your brake rotors with 'slotted and bored' from RockAuto. About $160 for both and they are easy to replace. I'm guessing you are driving an automatic trans. Just an observation, from MY experience, people with automatics tend to keep one foot on the brake pedal (nothing else to do with it). Try finding a place on the wheel well, I think there is a pad just for that purpose. Another observation, again from my experience, people drive too close together, causing the following driver (you) to have to apply your brakes just 'in case'. I use the 2 second rule (actually more like 3 second rule) and RARELY find it necessary to 'tap' my brakes. At 186,600+ I have only replaced my rotors twice since it was new.

 

Rotors are original. So are the pads! I know, I've never seen anything like it myself. When it does come time to replace them, I will be buying OEM pads (if they haven't been 'reformulated' since 2008).
