Might just help Chevy MGR here by not taking the bait and let this go.

When he pops up else where let it go there too.

I'll have to agree with the article about the hard plastic interior. But then again I only paid $18,000 for a unique looking, fun car with all the safety features I wanted, great versatility and great fuel economy. I don't care about the dash not being soft touch, but some soft vinyl or cloth inserts on the door armrests would have made a world of difference in this vehicle. But you know what? Check out some of the other new cars being sold today. I recently drove in a friend's new 2009 Honda Civic. Hard plastic, cheap looking dash, hollow sounding doors. Another friend's 2009 Hyundai Elantra? Yup, same thing. Don't even get me started on the Ford Focus. 2009 Toyota Corolla? Please! Cheap , cheap , cheap. Lots of new cars these days have cheap looking plastic interiors. Guess it's something we'll have to get used to. (The one exception is probably Volkswagen. I test drove the 2009 Rabbit and Jetta before I bought my HHR. VERY nice interiors for the price!)

At least it's a nice little car! When they were repossessing the dealer I bought from the other day, they were having a hard time starting a brand new Aveo. Wouldn't start. It sat there for two days after the other cars were all gone before they got it to work. All of the HHRs started just fine!

Ok, so that's really beside the point. Point is, I don't care like beachbum said, that I don't have a padded dash. Over time it'll just harden and crack anyways. Seen many new cars lately? Most of them just have hard plastic interiors. The HHR isn't alone.

So he wasn't sarcastic, after all...

I like the outcome, though.
