Long distance towing ?
Anyone ever towed a trailer for a long distance with their HHR. I going to be towing a Jet Ski from Florida to Philly . Roughly 1000 miles all hwy. Any problems with the 4 banger overheating or anything. I was thinking about getting a trans cooler. 07 2LT 2.4 auto.

Hey Droptop, only thing I have read on this is that the HHR has a 1000 lb. towing limit this includes anyone and everything inside the car at the time of towing. Seems to me that the trailer and two occupants would leave your towing capacity at somewhere near 550 lbs.

We used to tow an aluminum fishing boat and 25 hp motor behind an Isuzu with a 2.3 L 4. It had a stick shift which helped a lot. We often took it 100-200 miles on camping trips. Yes, you're going a lot further but it may just require long stops every few hundred miles.
