Loving the MPG on this new HHR!
I only make necessary trips around town, avoid jackrabbit starts, and keep it at about 65 mph on the highway unless I'm going on an out of state trip.
Most of the people I've seen who aren't satisfied with their mileage, are the ones who drive 75 or so on the highway. They also like to jet around town, and end up sitting at a lot of traffic lights.
Remember that during EPA mileage tests, they do NOT exceed the speed limits in the highway and city test areas. People who like to drive well over the speed limit just aren't going to obtain the 30/23 figures.
Last time I drove Wheelie, (Yesterday) He had 24.4 MPG on his DIC, I watch alot of NASCAR, and i have learned how to save as much fuel as I can, I use some of the techniques that Dale Jr. does to save fuel, and the MPG Increases on Wheelie dramaticly once I apply it!, even in stop and go driving, Wheelie increases his MPG by .1 slowly instead of decreasing.
I travel a total of about 50 miles per week., and I always manage to increase my MPG by 2, But then It gets killed when my dear mom drives Wheelie to work, she doesn't know how to save fuel like I do, My brother does the same thing. I go from 25.7 MPG from my driving style to 23.2 MPG with my Mom''s style. LOL
I just had an oil change for Wheelie, and he is VERY HAPPY. I chose CASTROL brand oil, That is Wheelie's favorite.
