Post Low Traction

Just to explain Low Traction to everyone.

According to the Owner Manual:

When Low Traction is displayed on the DIC

On Page 3-44
"This message will display when the Enhanced Traction System (ETS) is actively limiting wheel spin. Slippery road conditions may exist if this message is displayed, so adjust your driving accordingly. See Enchanced Traction System (ETS) on page 4-10 for more infomation."

On Page 4-10

"The system operates only if it senses that one or both of the front wheels are spinning or beginning to lose traction. When this Happens, the system reducses engine power and many also upshif the transaxle to limit whelel spin. You may feel or hear the system working, but this is Normal"

On Page 4-11

"To Limit wheel spin, especially in slippery road conditions, you should always leave the Enhanced Tranction System on. But you can turn the system off if you prefer"

There are instructions on Page 4-11 How to turn the ETS off. There is a way how to do so. I'm not going to write it on this website or endorse it.

I kind of like the surge of power you get when it releases but it sucks when you sit there with gas down and if feels like your going nowhere.

What gets me is that I had Low Traction come on before on a dry flat surface. I was turning and then I speeded up.

Thats why on my Mustang I used to turn it off on dry ground. I would be an idiot if I turned it off while there is snow on the ground. I miss having a traction control button.

I'll have to check that out. I wouldn't turn it off right now, but when theres no snow It would be nice to disable it.

Well I do recall someone on the snow post did mention they looked through the book and did not see the feature for it. However I found out and wanted to point out the function of the ETS and the options.
