Mods and Warranties

Morning! I am waiting for an SS, and I am planning on purchasing a fiberglass wood kit for it ( if you want to see:
http://www.californiacruisers.com/wood_on_wheels.htm!!

I'll probably want whitewall tires, too :)

Do mods of a physical nature only nullify a vehicle's warranty? I could understand if I were to alter a car mechanically...

A friend of the family is head of sales at the largest dealer in our city, so I am supposed to hear as soon as the SS arrives to go check it out. Verrrrry excited!

As far as the warranty, the only part that could be possibly voided would be on the paint.

Only damage related to the mods effects warranty. Woody parts do not effect the engine, etc.

http://www.californiacruisers.com/6__old_school.htm A/c has improved since they first used that round unit hanging by the window, guess they were OK for the lo humidity areas of the west.

My dealer said they would stand behind my car if I modded it providing they did the install. Of course they won't warrentee the parts themselves, unless they are GM.

Most dealers, here in AZ, will warranty ANY work and parts THEY do. Understand it is THE DEALER who is warrantying the work....not GM. If you are 500 miles from the dealer, on a trip, it MAY present a problem.
