I resemble that remark, I are an insurance agent. Only part of the blame should go to the agent, though. I'm always running up on VIN errors in the temporary registrations the dealers give out, as well as the various company softwares. However, the guy does sound a bit arrogant to argue about it. He should have just verified the number and thrown it in the company's lap to deal with. You might want to shop around at your next renewal, if nothing else just to make him sweat. Welcome to the forum.
Regards,

Gary

G Gray, I read the VIN to the agent myself right from the little computer generated card. The panel is so new that the car doesn't show up in their data bases. The VIN has different Letters in the beginning of the VIN than the sedan has. That was the root of the problem. They also couldn't understand I was using the plates from a car not used as a trade in. I took my old faithful 83 Mercury Marquis of the road for a needed rest and rehabilitation and will be back on the road with collector tags. My agent does not live in my state and is not familiar with Wisconsin regs. Heck, I've never seen my agent, but I've had no complaints with my insurance provider.
