I wholeheartedly agree with you on this. But I have had (and still have) other cars that have outside temp gages that appear to be more accurate than the one in the HHR. Besides ... Why does it appear that the majority of the complaints about the gage is high readings?

Mine seems correct. Every time I drive past a bank, mall, or so forth with a time/temp. display on their sign the display on my DIC pretty much always matches. At most is 1 degree different than the sign but I've only seen that once or twice. That's accurate enough for me.

With everyone already knowing what the temp is before getting into their HHR, why does it matter what the DIC says? If you don't like the rectal idea, you could always mount a indoor/outdoor therm.

OK, it is 85F outside and my dic temp says 58F. i washed Blackie about 9.30 this morning and he's been in the sun all day.

So I went out about 2.30 and drove in stop and go traffic for about 10 miles round trip, about 25-35 mph and it stayed at 58F. So from what I am reading, I needed to have continuous driving, with no stops at over 20 mph for it to change??!!

I'm wondering if I should be concerned as this is the FIRST issue with Blackie in my 6 months of having him.

Sounds like Blackie had a dyslexic moment.
