Question. If the rectal thermometer were inserted in the correct location and THEN stuck out the window, would the temp. not ALWAYS read about 98.8??

Just a little somethin' to think about.

I think it had a "moment" too When I moved Blackie back in about 7.00, it was showing 76F which was about right...whew!

No need for a rectal thermometer!

Location of Outside temperature guage

Was following this thread along and wondered if anyone knows where exactly the guage is located? Mine is stuck today at 41 degrees and it is 68 outside. Never had a problem. Wondered if dirt could block it or something. Any ideas?

Well, tonight I drove the car for about 12 miles and looked down and it was back to the proper temperature of 63 degrees. Started out at the same 41 and straightened itself out. Oh, well...

Thanks for the explanation. I now know why it always has a false reading when I start out and then several miles from home it reads OK. On previous vehicles it was accurrate as soon as the key was turned on.

Tom, are you positive it wasn't 136° that day?

Does anyone know how I made that ° symbol after the 136?
