You said you have the original computer (for a flexfuel) and a non-flexfuel engine. Some of the programming is different, at the least. I don't know if a dealer would/could reprogram for the new engine/car; they get a little weird when you ask them to work "out of the box".
I guess you could look at a GM parts site and see if the part numbers are the same. The site I looked at said they were the same part number.
If the person that did the engine switch didn't not know what they were doing they probably would have left the VIN in the new computer,. if the computer got changed.
This is why we always suggest getting the same year and model donor. Or, at the very least get a junkyard to cross reference the engines.

No the computer was not changed. The shop only knew what information I provided. I didn't know I didn't get a 2011 HHR engine until I started having issues. It did come from a junkyard. The company name is LKQ and they have horrible reviews on BBB. Problem is the site was Engines Pro so not even close to LKQ. They are telling me that the correct engine was sent and they want to talk to someone at my shop. Of course my cousin and I have done most of the work because I couldn't afford to pay the shop. Now I have to see if they will help me and say they did all the work and discuss the issue with these people. I just know I'm being effed over and there's not much I can do about it.

Donbrew, in post #83 , Jessica states she knows she didn’t get an HHR engine, so those first pages remain, the donor car was a 2009 Cobalt.

I know that's what was said back there. Now she says different. She gave us a link to a website that showed an LAP engine with a disclaimer "DOES NOT FIT". She said she chose an engine, now it is sold a particular engine. Usually you go to a junkyard and say "I need an engine for a 2011 HHR 2.2L FlexFuel" then they ask for your VIN and cross reference in their computer not "I'll take any old 2.2L engine you have". Pretty darn rare that a junkyard would sell you an engine with a different VIN identifier, since they usually give a fitment guarantee. A shop did the install, my cousin did the install.
LKQ has lots of bad reviews because they are a huge company with lots of locations; lots of interactions breed lots of dissatisfaction. Grains of salt need to be inspected.
When I go to a store and buy something that, in my opinion looks like it will work; even though it says it won't am I getting effed?
Bottom line is P0301, compression good, moved coil, plug and injector, stayed P0301. It must be the wiring or the computer is getting different data than expected for some unknown reason. Probable cause: installer error not supplier error.
Have your fun for another 9 pages. Maybe some facts will become consistent.

Wire harness was replaced last night with the one we tested. No difference.
I will leave this alone after this. I'm not trying to be a pain in the ass and I feel that's what's happening. I ordered the engine based on MY VIN. I selected an engine that had low miles out of the list that I was provided. They are telling me that the correct engine was ordered and the correct engine was sent. I've told them what you said regarding the computer and they think it's bull**** and would like to discuss it with my mechanic. My mechanic didn't say it. So that's what I'm dealing with.
