No I've never used E85 (thankfully) ever. I don't even know where to get E85 in my area. LOL I've been going to the same gas station for 23 years and they don't sell it.

OK good. Your car probably still says “flex fuel” on the gate and the gas cap, it probably ain’t anymore, depending on what they did when they swapped in the Cobalt motor. Putting E85 in a car that isn’t meant to take it will make it run VERY lean.

Have you tried any bottled fuel injector cleaner?

Back to the drawing board.

Jessica, did you ever get the injectors on your HHR injectors put into your cobalt engine? For I have gone through many of the same problems you experienced. I have a 2009 HHR FlexFuel 2.2L that the engine failed on and I replaced it with a 2010 cobalt Non-FlexFuel 2.2L. I can confirm that you will get a p0171 and or p0172 with this setup using the Cobalt injectors. Once I switched back to the HHR Fuel rail and Injectors the ECM is much happier now! I hope you got yours good already but if not I hope this helps.

Please keep your relevant posts in one place. It gets very confusing when you have 10 different posts on the same subject. Asking an OP from a year ago is not likely to get a response.

Thank you for sharing, but she did state in post #118 that she has fixed that problem by replacing the fuel rail and injectors, Jessica hasn’t been on the site for a year now.
