General HHR Discuss anything related to the Chevy HHR that doesnt seem to fit into the more specific categories below.

Is it possible to install a turbocharger from the HHR SS model to the LS one?

Also, you might trying to go back in history on this site. I can think of 2 people who installed, or had installed, turbos on the 2.2. I believe one was NoBullJoe, the other name I do not recall. If you locate their posts, it would be informational because neither have participated on this forum for a very long time.

I think those were super chargers not turbos. Supercharger is pretty much a bolt on, if you get a kit.

If that high mileage engine is so tired that you think it needs a boost you should consider engine swap instead.

You're right greg. Pull the power plant at that mileage then make an overall assessment for direction.
Anything is possible.

Prudent spending would be the SS I saw for sale with 66k miles.
Even at asking price I'd think under budget compared to a turbo add on at high mileage.

Problem is the stock bottom end on the 2.2 and 2.4 suck. It’s not a problem at all if you were to build it. But you wouldnt build a motor to use a k04
