Let's call this a "service" release, as most people probably don't even carry a screwdriver or flashlight in their vehicle.

Guess where the screwdriver would be kept if everyone did carry a set of tools in the car..........

Wouldn't be the back in the storage area, would it?

You can call it whatever you want......and I'll bet it's been a few "choice" things IF you couldn't find it . But the Owners Manual refers to it as the Manual Liftgate Release. That would probably make it easier to locate in the book

I keep some small items in the bins right behind the back seat, but the rest is under the floor.
