Look at post #22, in the thread, he states that the wire you need to scrape the insulation off and ground is a purple wire in the BCM area of the waterfall, not under the hood.
BTW, you probably already know that now, the 4-button fob with the remote start button will work, if you want to avoid two-handed multiple button pushing gyrations. Less onviously, the contact is already on your green board and you can simply move it to an empty 4-button case, available cheap on line.
Also, I would highly recommend posting a prominent warning under the hood that the RS remains active with the hood open. I also put a note in behind the fuse panel that explains the ground wire.

Two weeks ago I was installing new aftermarket head unit and to power the factory Pioneer amp I had to tap into PINK wire in the radio harness and that PINK must have really stayed in my head :)
New, 4 buttons FOB shells are already on their way 👍
