Off to Powder Coat

I took the rear axle back to Sutton Engineering in La Habra (the guys that narrowed it) They completely disassembled it and I dropped off the housing at the powder coater. I need to pick up new axle bearings, grease seals and gaskets so when the powder coater is finished I can return it to Sutton for them to set up the posi differential with the proper lash and to re assemble the axle assembly. Once that's done I'll have a completly new, killer rear axle assembly with the best of everything in it. I should never have any problems with it.

B&M Shifter Placement

OK so I'm playing with the placement of the shifter. It's a B&M Pro Ratchet model. If I place it on the top of the stock console it is too tall. I'll have to build a internal support for it and then I'll have to section the plastic housing and build a new top cap. I have it sitting in some rolls of masking tape in this photo and I am liking the height of it. The grip location seems just about right.

It's Painted

Saturday we rolled it into the booth and shot it black. The thing I like best about it is the removal of the radio antenna. For some reason that roof mounted antenna always bugged me. Too European or something. Anyway, it's gone.

".....nothing too radical says he........ Well nothing seen is too radical! But underneath?

An utterly amazing build, Lasater..... utterly amazing!

And Chevy should have built it that way along with an HHR pickup.

I totally agree. ANY engine as long as it was rwd would have been great. It's a piece of cake to build or swap out an engine. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my '08 panel, it's been one of the best and most dependable cars I've ever owned. I now have 120 k miles on it, not a single problem.

On the plus side, we all have great looking daily drivers to enjoy. But a rwd V8???in a car that looks this cool???..............Now your talkin'
