Although in this particular case Don the vehicle that the OP is looking at certainly shouldn't be repaired, that's not to say it couldn't be repaired by a competent collision repair facility. Body shops do major structural damage repair every day on unibody cars. These days, that's their bread-and-butter work. I'm not aware of any state laws that would prohibit a vehicle owner from repairing that HHR - if he/she wanted to. (It's still going to have a 'salvage' title, though). Of course, if your state has a safety inspection standard, you might think twice about fixing that one.
