Hey Y'all,
I just wanted to ask a question about the shift light. Does anyone have any idea or any thoughts as to why GM would put a shift light in the made for America HHR's versus the made for Canada HHR's?
To me it seems kinda odd to make such a small thing different on the two sets of vehicles.
Seems like a waste of time, money and effort to manufacture two sets of display clusters, but that's just my opinion.

Sure I've read about the shift light not really working or whatever but that thread never really touched upon why they wouldn't put the light into the Canadian models.
If there are any Canadian members with a manual, do you actually see a shift light impression on the instrument cluster?
I'm just a little curious as to why GM would bother with such a small change in vehicles going to Canada vs the US.
