Hhr ss shift light

looking in the manuel for the 2008 hhr ss it seems that there is a shift light for better economy driving, i see the light on the dash but it never comes on, is there some sort of button or something i need to do to turn it on or what? thank you very much

It reads: "If you have a manual transmission, you may have an up-shift light."

This up-shift indicator light is only installed and used on an "LS" HHR with the manual transmission. It is not used on the "SS". There is a cut out on the template for the light on all HHR instrument clusters. I've never taken the cluster out, but I'd bet that if you did you'd find the cavity empty.

Mine lights up at 7100 rpm, but I don't think that is the "economy" setting....

So you can sit in your SS and look out and stare at another SS?

I have something similar in my garage too lol. Except it's a picture of me racing at Raceway Park in Englishtown.
