No time machine, I started of in 62, as a lot boy, washing cars . I got the 70 Torino in early 71, I don’t have a picture of it, it might have been 429.

2008 LNF had the porosity issue. T^he engine should have been replacedd for that.

I’d dig into the repair that GM provided, they may have installed a new engine. That is a great price for a low miles SS

Is your CA location Canada of California? This is a high-risk car, and corrosion from a northern climate would make it worse and also cut the value in half, for or less. If it's a dealer, you can't grill the owner to glean facts about the car's history. Also, that's a LONG time on the lot. If you can afford the risk, try to negotiate a substantially lower price, unless the car has never seen road salt. Just my guess.
