Now that's a neat idea but way to expensive for me, even for home use At half the $$$ I'd be all over it though!

I've been thinking about that. It really is an expensive for bean bag. Hell, it's expensive for a chair but once you've sat in one, the price feels a lot more justifiable. With that said I am fairly sure something similar could be recreated for a fraction of the price. All you really need is a cheap foam mattress like the one mentioned in a previous post. Just cut it up in to small pieces and then stuff it in a duvet cover. That should create the desired effect.

Gee, form fitting sleeping bags and the like, makes my nodding off in a three hour traffic jam seem like amateur stuff.

But it did count as sleeping in an HHR.

My self-inflating therm-a-rest works just fine. It goes with me in Red, when I'm visiting friends/family or when I'm on 2 wheels and need to stretch out.

I like the idea of big soft mattresses, but where do they go when you are driving? I don't know about you, but I have a lot of other gear that I have to carry and big bulky mattresses just don't fit into the equation.
I did just add an additional hatch release on the inside, so I can open the hatch without going outside.

It works for 2 smaller...adults and a small child in a pinch. Like when a storm drowns a tent and the skeeters havent fed for weeks....Nothing like fold flat seats in our little trucklets so many other smaller cars, suvs, etc. seats wont lay flat but ours do! Why did Chevy stop making these. They are becoming Cult Cars.

Wifey and I just spent the night in the panel on an air mattress on a weekend road trip. She loved it and is now planning a road trip in the fall

Sleeping in an H HR

If I were going to do it myself, I'd just use a sleeping bag and cover the floor with a couple blankets, but that's just me. I've never done it before, but I've laid down in the back of my HHR with the seats folded down just to see what it would be like. I'm 5'7" and I fit in there OK, but I'm thinking a person over 6' might be uncomfortable.
And 70 years old and need a little extra padding so I went online to Walmart and bought their 8 inch twin size foam mattress it works really well for me. Also if you knew you need more legroom the front passenger seat folds forward completely flat . Also, if you need to shorten the mattress and has a zippered covering on it it is easy to roll back and you can cut the foam easily with an electric knife to the size you need.

They have screens that attach with
magnets that you can buy from Magnascreen or you can make your own.
Anyone have a solution to keep the windows open and the skeeters out?

Some kind of netting with sticky tape or...?

It would be bi+chin' if someone made pop-in/pop-out screens for our car windows :twothumbs
if you attach the rain shields to your windows when you get to leave your windows rolled down somewhere if it's raining to get some air with the screens on

I realize you're a new member here, so a tidbit of info for you. All posts have a date on them. Some of those posts you're replying to are as far back as 6 years ago.
Don't feel bad if you get no responses. Those members may not have been back to the site lately.
