Spoiler installation question

I have ordered and received a spoiler from a web sight. This is the one that allows the wind to pass through. I need to know the factory spacing for proper installation. It may be 1 inch from the top and each side. There does exist a hole cut out from the underside of the rear lid. I assume that the hole should be drilled in the center of that cut. Any help that you can provide will be appreciated.

Should of used the forum's search feature and you would of found this in the how to section. The ugly OEM spoiler installation https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/how-tutorial-library-21/how-install-hhr-spoiler-25050/

I did read that thread and ordered mine from the same company. However you must note that he centered his 1/2 from the top and ends. However this is probably not following the factory spacing. Also note that his holes inside the lid are not centered and had to be inlarged slightly. I want to know the factory spacing so that screws can be properly spaced from inside the hood.

In looking at that other thread quite some time ago I wondered if that spoiler has the same bolt location as the factory spoiler.... I don't know but it looks like factory one may have only one bolt per side...... There's no locator (cut out) for that second bolt, if you see what I mean.

Just saying......

Yes, I noticed this also. However it would seem odd that such a long spoiler would have only two screws holding it in place. Hopefully someone with a factory installed spoiler will be able to help us. Ed

It is a bolt-on modification, not a factory replacement spoiler. The holes do not line up anyway, so even if you used factory specs they won't line up. I measured 3/4" from the top, 1/2" on each side, worked well for me. The bottom holes have to be drilled through, no matter what. Space it to your liking, and get out the drill....
