Hmmm... All this talk about static got me to thinking: I haven't been shocked once in/by Nellie. Don't know if it's cuz we've had a fairly humid summer here in central Texas or... could it be due to my Wet Okole seat covers - they're neoprene hence no build up????

you can actually just make one... take a small piece of steel cable, put a eyebolt terminal on one end... bolt it underneath the frame somewhere so that the other end touches/drags on the ground....

FYI: Another source of static can be your skin. The drier your skin, the more static buildup you'll end up with in your body.

It also can be from you clothing, interior carpet, cloth seats. I noticed it more here in the the dryer weather of late fall and winter. Its not just a problem with the HHR, but other cars to. along with the house unless you have a humidifier. UMMM, a humidifier for the car? may not be a bad ooption
