Sun Roof Wind Screen

What is the purpose of the wind screen that pops up when the sun roof retracts?

It makes a lot of noise. It's much quieter when I push it down with my hand.

Someone enlighten me......

SUPPOSEDLY cuts turbulance into the cabin and reduces wind noise.

It does cut turbulence, but not necessarily wind noise.

It does both, though... if you lower the screen about half way it gets even quieter...screen up changes the pitch....Ive considered a restraint to not allow it to travel past half way as this is the quietest zone

agreed. But I don't know how effective they would be because of the more square shape, as oppose to oblong or rectangular.
