The Tale and End of my HHR
#52
I simply love the car. Plus as little I saw HHR SS around town, I never see these. I love that as well.
I told you guys I would let you know when I got the new ride. So there it is....
Hope all is well with everybody.

Good Luck with the new ride, Chris.
And you still "kind of" have a Ford. I think Volvo is owned by Ford.
Oh, and is it really 87 degrees in Michigan (noticed on your picture of the dash).

Rodney B (a forum member) and his son came up this morning to pick up the 16" steelies that I advertised for free in the classified section. This was the first time I got to see and touch an HHR SS. I was impressed, to say the least. And Rodney was very enthusiastic about his vehicle. The SS model is an entirely different animal that the LS and LT models.
There is an old saying that one bad apple can spoil the whole bunch, but it's safe to say that this does not really apply to vehicles. It does not take much to ruin a new engine - an over-torqued and stretched head bolt, an improperly seated valve retainer, a main bearing cap torqued too tight on one side and not enough on the other. It does not happen often, but it does happen, and I guess Chris (Gas Man) drew the short straw.
I wish Gas Man well with his new Volvo - it's a gorgeous car for sure.

You're right korn... it didn't fair well with me but the worse piece... nor did the way GM handled it up to the point and pushing me to hire a lawyer. I shouldn't have had to done that. Oh well... the past... keep it in the rear view.
Thanks Rodney.
Thanks Rodney.
