Not wishing to sound snotty here, but do we need the vehicle to do elementary school math for us?

Never been in any car that had a trip odometer that went over 999.9 miles. They may exist but if so I've never owned, driven or rented one.

I had to bite my tongue on this thread at the start. LOL

If a dealer does the oil change they often put a little clear decal in the upper corner of the windshield which details when the next oil change is due. So one doesn't even need to use the trip odometer for tracking it. Just use the DIC anyways - that's what it is there for.

Either way, it is not a big deal in the scheme of things.

This is very interesting. I'll have to try to take a look at this some time but I'm pretty sure that the trip odometer goes beyond 999.9km so it must be a weird programming thing when the vehicles is in the Imperial setting.

I finally got around to looking at my trip odometer. I reset the first odometer at every fuel fill up but I never really mess around with the second odometer. The second one was showing just under 1700km this morning which is over 1000 miles. When I changed the computer from metric to imperial the trip odometer did show over 1000 miles.

Really Mike. If I remember correctly you have and '06. I also have an '06 and I remember from many trips that it only goes to 999.9. I wonder if switching it to metric then back again provides the additional digit. I did notice there is two additional spaces between "Trip B" and the mileage (one space for the "space" and one space for an additional digit).
