What Did You Do To Your HHR Today?
My 07 Panel left me stranded. Starter went out on it. Had AAA tow it to the stealer ship and they wanted $675 to replace a freakin starter!!!!!!!!!!!
I said screw that, got a tow dolly, hauled it home, got a $140 rebuilt starter from Advance Auto and had it going in a half an hour. How do the dealerships stay in business when they charge such insane prices?

Went to jump start the HHR today to take it to the dealership to see why the battery went dead....... welll the battery was NOT dead. In fact it started right up !!!!
Starting to wonder if it's the starter or.... ????? Yesterday it was compeltely dead..... and today it started right up like nothing is wrong with it.
It's spending the night at the dealership. Hope to get it figured out this time. Nothing worse than a car you cannot TRUST to take anywhere for fear it will not start. Could be tough to figure out what's wrong.

One time the flat rate book worked to my advantage. I had just aquired a 59 Austin Healey Bug Eye Sprite. When I traded for it I new it had starter problems. I pulled the starter and checked it the solder conection between the field winding and the post was loose. The field winding was somthing that I had never seen before( I was an Electricians Mate in the Coast Guard). This was late in 1970. The winding looked like a copper bar not normal windings. So I called the local foreigh car replace they said it would be $25 if they pulled the starter and fixed it or it would be $10 an hour if I brought the starter to them. So I took the car in and said you do it. When I picked the car up it turned out that they had spent 5 hours fixing the starter. It seems that every time that they soldered the connection it would break loose when they tried to reassemble it. That was the fear I had which is why I let them do the whole job. I paid my bill of $25 and drove home. My figuers may be a little off that was a long time ago. The starter was still in the car when I sold it several years later.
Service manager called..... the HHR will be done today. They ordered a new starter and found the dull sounding front end noise ..... front stabilizer and something he called a "rear boot"?????
Making the "best" out of the 100% bumper to bumper warranty. Getting as many things replaced as I can..... just a PITA to be without the car & driving it back to the dealership.
Couldn't find any low mileage HHR's in my area. The dealer we bought the car from is about an hour from where we live. Lots of nice HHR's still for sale but as time goes on there will be less & less.
During my "search" ..... at the time there were NO SS's within a reasonable driving distance.
Even with as many trips to the dealership we have had to do in the short period of time we have owned our HHR I wouldn't TRADE it for anything.... except for an Turbo SS
