What Did You Do To Your HHR Today?
I know, on another thread, it has been discussed about changing your oil, well, I took the wife's '06 2LT for it's first oil change yesterday (we bought it used) and had a local Valvoline plaace we use on the other cars do it. They used the proper 5w-30 oil, changed the filter, with new o-ring, and even knew how to reset the counter.
about kicked mine out of sheer frustration;
two days ago the low beam went out.
today, the interior door handle snapped off..........
here's the kicker.
i know each of these are easily rectified.
however, we've come to the season where single digit temps prevail and i have no garage........

BQS4 , nice you got the fresh stuff for the wife's hhr, and that's a good looking .net decal. I like the way you photoshoped the monster pine tree in there.
bowtie those things can wait...unless of course next weeks weather will be minus double digits......

or Officer Friendly has a quota to fill
met a guy like that once ...
Sorry BQS4, I was just trying to see if I could get the fella who joined 5 years ago and only made 85 posts to make one more. Really I didn't know Georgia had big pine trees. I remember pecan trees and lots of moss hanging from all the trees, but that was 1964....

I'm back, long story... I'll post later if you really want to know....
Mocked up wood floors. Planning on finishing these on monday so I can put the GF to work staining, and clearing the wood and the metal runners. (yes, I have a piece to fill the middle, took it out to measure some stuff, and didn't put it back for the pic, D'oh)
Ran air through the spark plug holes and found 6 bent intake valves. Heading to the junkyard monday or tuesday to find a new head hopefully.
Frame for the bed is all welded in, and backwindow is mounted. Going to start cutting metal to fill the holes on the sides (New B pillar) and where there is a hole on the top.
Hopefully I can buff out these damaged pistons too...
Also on the "to do" list is finalize color selection so I can paint the Jambs.
Again, sorry I dropped off the face of the earth, and magicly resurfaced. I had some tramatic personnal things happen. I know it doesn't make it right, but I've been back in the garage for a few weeks now. You can be mad at me if you want, it's cool.

That wood bed is gonna be awesome!
Sorry to hear your valves and pistons conducted a "meet 'n greet", never a good deal. I've seen pistons that looked worse reused, but their viability really depends on how deeply deformed they are.
No need to apologize for taking time to get things straightened out, in the grand scheme of life's priorities, the forum is way down the list.
Just glad to have ya back man.
