She was a good girl yesterday. She got the wife's Sebring convertible started (though I had to ask the dealer who sold me the thing where the jumper hookups were on both cars).

And I found something out this morning: I have a six-CD disc changer. This makes me happier than it should for some reason.

Got back from the Holidays in PA, (Jesus it was cold!), changed shifts at work (Only 8 hours a day, what a waste), and finally got back out to the HHR the last few days.

I took apart the fuel system, drained the tank, put it all back together, flushed the lines, and put the engine back together (again). I also started on the passenger side of the rear window. I've been more focused on getting her running, and down the street as of late, so the metal fab has slowed down. I also noticed the airbag light was on... Sigh... Time for another trip the scrap yard once I pull the code I guess.

On a side note... I picked up another set of rims for my week end ride, I affectionately call "The Barbie Car". Here are the new rims on the car, with an old one for comparison. Jumped from 17s to 18s, and the ride quality has suffered a bit from it, so I'm not 100 percent happy with it.

I need to roll the fenders to make the clearance, but I think they look nice on her. Tonight, I'm going to finish the passenger side of the rear glass, and hopefully start welding in the top of the rear window on the HHR.

I really do have to try to get my new baby in for a car wash, but it's either snow or freeze up here.

Well now you're stopping in style, but knowing the former owner of those brakes, your HHR might stop spontaneously in front of the Griot's Garage store & showroom.

Hopefully SS fan warned you about those brakes remembering his shopping expeditions to Griot's, the lucky stiff.

Went out Saturday AM and my windshield had 2 long cracks on the passenger side. It was alright last weekend and I don't drive it through the week. Nothing I know of happened except we had a couple of days of 18-19 degree weather last week. Someone told me that the freezing could crack the glass. I never heard of that. Guess I will call the insurance company today and see what they say.

It can happen if there are any chips or nicks that create stress risers in the glass.

Factor in a wider than normal temperature swing, and crack, there goes the windshield.

HHR windshields are bonded in and actually become structural elements, so they are always under some stress, be it in tension or compression.
