Nothing sadder than an empty garage stall, but nothing nicer than knowing it'll soon be occupied by a new ride.

Installed my freshly painted beauty bar over the weekend. Got to say I'm finally happy with the overall look I've accomplished.

This isnt the correct thread to discuss in depth the hub design faults as they pertain to this bastarded heavy bodystyle on the Delta chassis. My direction is conceptualizing an improved part either drawn up by us HHR fans and hired out to a machinist OR possibly using GM (or other) parts bin to find a more durable hub/bearing/spindle for a reasonable cost to a modifiers budget.
What I really meant was to type "HUB" into the search box and see the hundreds of links.

Why do you suppose GM would think about redesigning a part on a discontinued platform?

Hubs can be found on Ebay for around $40, that is as much as you would spend for roller bearings on a 1970 Plymouth (that need to be changed every 40,000 miles). In short the Chinese have already solved your conceptualization.

Made a flying trip from the Amtrak parking lot in Kannapolis to the CMC Northeast Hospital one town over to see my Mom after her Traverse was broadsided by a texting teenager.

Mom has a broken left arm, cuts, bruises, and a case of "seat belt rash" that's as painful as it looks. But even loaded up with enough painkillers to drop a Rhino in its tracks, she's madder than a wet hen, so I know she'll be fine.

But I'm angry, very angry, if something isn't done to curb distracted driving soon, people are going to be dying on the roads in droves.

The other driver wasn't badly hurt, and I'm thankful for that because I care about her family and what they're going through.

And I'd like to publicly thank the GM engineers who have gotten nothing but bad press lately, their hard work saved my Mother's life. She can get another Chevy Traverse, I can't go out and get another Mom.

Well written Mike, glad your Mom will be ok, and didn't hurt her other hand , beatin' on that texting teen. I know police have cracked down on distracted driver's I saw an officer ticket a young lady at a stop light she had her mobile phone in her hands, she claimed she was just getting directions , the officer checked her phone screen and noted the navigation app was not open but her messaging was, she got a fine for that, now we just have to get the message out the old fashioned way, set an example and don't drive distracted!!!

She's at the muffler shop inspecting for damage caused by a rock I hit last weekend. The rock somehow lodged itself in my exhaust system and completely tweaked everything from about mid-car back. While she's there I'm having a new tip installed too to freshen things up.
Your buggy looks sweet..great choice on the wheels and looks *****in in the weeds
