Actually none of the HHR's came with an upper shelf, the secondary mounting locations are for using the load floor cover in the upper position, usually for security against prying eyes on non-Panel models.

A few of us have snagged additional load floor covers to use in the upper position, in addition to keeping the lower cover in place, as seen on my '07 known as Paddy.

If you do use your new upper shelf for cargo, make sure it's secured. Getting a tool and its case in the back of the head during a panic stop would be no fun at all.

And don't go overboard on the weight, the inner side panels are just plastic.

Mike, I think he means he didn't have one at all. I could just be blind, but I don't see one in there.

Could be he didn't get one with his new used Panel, he's definitely in the running for the most stuff stuffed into an HHR award, well once we create a "Most Stuff Stuffed" award or contest that is.

Sorry to hear that the docs still have you on a shelf Oldblue, but the snow is melting instead of falling, that's a good thing.

Paddy hit 82,000 miles on the nose just as I pulled him into the garage this afternoon, the HHR's will stay parked until next Monday. Time to bake pies tomorrow, and prepare to activate my alter ego on Thursday, Chef Mike is fixing to make an appearance.

*Not actually Chef Mike, just what my wife says I resemble in the kitchen.

Installed a CGS intake. No codes so far and the sound coming from the 2.2 now is insane. Not sure if I like or not. It does clean up the engine bay though and that I like.

Was a sad day yesterday. Backed the Mickey Mobile into a big truck and it's hitch receiver cut a square hole in the bumper.

Yep, but could have been worse and I'll be able to get it fixed in a week or so.

Yikes! That hurts!
We are in Erie PA for Turkey day, the HHR is back home, my niece drove her car this year and offered to chauffeur my lovely wife and I.
