My only real complaint on the HHR was brakes. Mine was one of the early 2005 builds and for the most part a solid car. And your right, lots of bad ones everywhere under every badge.

Even Rolls-Royce cars breakdown, but RR prefers to say that "the vehicle failed to proceed", machines do fail from time to time.

But by now, we've got the accumulated knowledge of our members both current and past dating back for a decade.

There's very little that can go wrong with an HHR, that we as a group don't know about, and that knowledge and the willingness to share it keep us in the position of the Standard Bearer for our sister forums.

It pains me when a member like solman loses their HHR through no fault of his own, but the presence of a Hyundai in his garage will allow him to weigh in with a new perspective.

My HHR's are all parked back in NC again today as I play "tourist" here in Vegas.

I just wish Apple could improve the mode change from "phone" to "camera" because I missed a grab shot of a Pepto Bismol Pink 1LT this morning on the Strip.

Ya know, it didn't look half bad in pink either, who'd a thunk it?

Today I noticed some fluid on the driveway were I park. The only fluid I found to be low was my brake fluid, my peddle pressure is fine good solid feel, no low peddle when the brakes are pressed into service.
I did a search here but can't find any directions on how to change the reservoir !
I did find the TSB about the cold weather affecting the brake fluid and the part number for a kit to replace the reservoir.
From what I see I need to remove the fuse panel and then the master cylinder to move it forward to clear the air conditioner plumbing then remove the retainer bolt to pull the plastic tub up and spill brake fluid onto the paper towels I'll place under it
Any I site into this would be a great help! I can't lean over the fender for very long to do this!

I noticed on mine several times that resovouir (sp) would be very dirty on the outside. I remember once when it was in for some sort of warranty work they told be brake pressure was pushing some out of the cap. Never saw any anyplace but on the bottle itself. But usually dirty. Funny how my fluid level was never low. That always made me wonder.

The HHR has quirts as we all know. But nothing major IMO. Once you figured one out, they are not hard to work on. Though some processes are a pain.... Mine took a hard lick in the front, still fired up and idled smooth. They are unique, they don't look like everything running down the road. I still smile everytime I see a nice clean one with some personal touches. In 9 years I have to install new plugs, ignition control module, cat, 3 O2's (upstream twice), stat, and of course brakes. That's not a bad list for 9 years. Couple of warranty repairs early on.

There is a local plummer in the Atlanta area called the Pink Plummer, they have a couple of HHR's for small jobs, and they are pink as well....

Hi Guys,

Did my first oil and filter change last night, used Mobil 1 and an A/C Delco filter. Should have picked up a air filter too, but wasn't thinking. Car is performing well, other than a minor warping of the rotors (I think), the vibration comes and goes, but seems to be when the brakes are hot. Started detailing the car last week in the evenings, have about half of it done so far! Gonna update the trip home on my original post.

Installed a K&N intake air pipe on the SS. Pipe only, not the whole kit, works good.
Also Trifecta tune. Waiting for a dry day to really enjoy it.
