Have you ever seen the serious business of comedy explanation of the "slowly I turn" joke? That IS the joke!

"and the horse he rode in on"!

Decided to take a stab at a little body work. Im faaaaar from a pro, but for being at home and using rattle bomb cans it is not too shabby.

This dent

Some scratches on the rear bumper

And this scratch, which is filled already.

After paint on the rear quarter

And the bumper after paint. Sorry the post is long, but Im kinda proud for being my first shot at this.

Sitting at a traffic light I hear a new rattle, oh well says I. Turn the corner, go half a block and I hear this tremendous loud noise and feel the car running over something. I look in the mirror and see this black looking piece of something rolling down the street, where did that come from and why didn't I see it? Used my left turn signal and there was the dreaded quick click telling me a bulb burned out. I get home and checked too see what is up. Looking under the drivers side wheel well I see that the inner liner is gone! wtf? says I. I go back to the scene of the loud noise and there is my liner laying in the street. Picked it up and went home. Hopefully I will feel up to seeing if it is in good enough shape to put back in. And yes, the liner slapped the turn signal light and broke it, fortunately only the bulb is broke so I replaced it.

Any one else have this happen to them?
What are the ramifications of driving around without the liner?

Now that's a new one Budster, well not 100% new because we had a member here about five years ago suffer from a self detaching fender inner liner, but that was a foreign made "Pattern Part" foisted on him by his insurance company.

Had you had it out recently for a bulb replacement?

Nice work there Twistedtat, if you take your time and do the proper prep work, a "rattle can" paint repair can come out looking just as nice as work done by a bodyshop.

You did a super job, it looks great!

No I have never replaced the bulbs before but then I am not the original owner. I will be getting some new plastic pins and try to re-install the liner.

Changed the oil and filter today.
I've been doing it at 5k mile intervals since new. I was a little shocked to find my maintenance log showed 14 months since the last service.
Guess I don't drive it as much now that I'm retired from a full time job.

Jeepers George, gotta take her out and blow the carbon out from time to time.

The next nice day that rolls around, clear your calender, and make a vow to "Crank up the HHR, and drive the snot out of it", you'll both be happier when you roll into the garage Buddy.

Didn't "do" anything with mine today except to back Paddy and the '06 Daily Driver out of my way so I could do the "lube, oil, filter, and tire rotation" deal on the Missus' Fiat 500-C.

When the Fiat garage opens in a few hours, I'm going to give them a piece of my mind, Lord knows what they had the wheels torqued too...but I snapped my Craftsman 1/2" drive breaker bar in two on the third lugbolt.

It's a darn good thing I'd moved Paddy and the DD, because I'd have ended up on one of their hoods when I went flying after the breaker bar let go.

Let's see, that's two snapped breaker bars in 30 years, and both times I ended up skidding to a stop on my butt.
