What Did You Do To Your HHR Today?
Discharged from the "horse-pistol" after doing some "sheet time" in a big way.
Came home, grabbed Paddy's keys, and proceeded to drive until I got it out of my system.
I'm not going to say in which County or on what road I had the speedometer needle on the other side of 100, but if these Trucklets can be happy so see you, Paddy was a happy camper indeed.
Nothing puts a smile on your face like a Trifecta Tuned L-61 winding out on a back road with the GMPP Intake and GMPP/Borla exhaust combining to produce a hard edged snarl, that escalates to an all out screaming yowl.
Powering out of an increasing radious "sweeper" with the Speedometer needle trying to catch the needle on the Tach, with the rear end stepping out just a touch, that's the best medicine in the world kids.

Went for state inspection today.
Told I needed rear brakes.
Since I don't have a shop or garage to work in anymore I had them done for $125 parts and labor. The guy cut me a deal, first for being a blue collar auto mechanic (45 plus years) and I had given him a free Saturday ticket to the Barclay's PGA that happened in September on Long Island which I was a volunteer for.
It's the first time I had to pay someone to work on my car, other than bodywork.

That C-4 was a 160+ MPH car, I had it up that high once on Alligator ally (AKA I-75)
Well it's been a while since I've been on the Forum, figured I'd give an update on my Panel. It was parked or on jack stands for well over a year while I worked on the rear suspension. I was finally able to drive it this weekend, and it felt great to get behind the wheel of an HHR again.
I ended up cutting the entire rear floor and wheel wells of the uni-body out, made and welded in a frame, built independent rear suspension, and made new sheet metal wheel tubs to cover everything. Hope ya like it.

LUNCHBOX!!! Glad to see you back. Wow, you been busy. You got it looking dang radical. Nice and clean look. Well done.
For those that missed it a while back here is a thread on some of the work Lunchbox put into his lowering project - https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/brak...pension-52739/

843de!!! Glad to hear you were out and having a bit of fun. You should have driven up here yesterday and help me hunt down a new battery for the old 2006. I even would have let you pull the old one out and install the new one. Heck you could have even used my tools. I'm just that kinda guy as you well know.
Good to see you out................ and about............ :)
