What Did You Do To Your HHR Today?
Was yesterday but i headed to south eastern missouri in the the black panel. ( to play in Current River at Doniphan Missouri ,parents were raised up there)
Just about 420 miles round trip all divided highway.
The Panel ran like a charm, if anyone is familiar with US 67 South towards Poplar Bluff knows of the hills down that way.
I filled up about 50 some miles in on the return trip with 250 on the trip and just little more than 1/2 tank
it took 8.516 gallons for think it was roughly 28.xx miles per gallon.
I arrived home with more showing on the fuel gauge very pleased with the 2.2's performance on the open road.
but the level may have changed by now.

Put him in the shop "again"
Im not giving up on my 2011 HHR LT. Front end falling apart at 150+ miles. Choice made. Keep it! Either I put more money into my big white Buluga or I get another new used car and not know what is going to happen down the road.
3 K to do a complete overhaul on front end, suspension in rear and a little extra maintenance.

Gee $3,000.00, that's a lotta cash for the front and rear suspension, is that a quote from a GM dealer?
Yesterday , I attempted several methods off the old interwebs on how to clean up the headlights. I'm thinking the best method is .... order a new set of headlights!!
Acetone...fail
Metal polish... fail
Sand and polish kit... fail
Sand and clear lacquer...fail
I'm not saying they are not plausible but I'm saying, I'm not satisfied with the results!
These headlights I purchased used from a member on this site, who had purchased Depos for his SS, which was less than a year old , they sat in the Depo boxes until I installed them 16 months ago. So they are aged but not exposed to the sun, weather, or road debris for most of their life.
Well, they are clear enough to see at night, I'll budget from a new set next spring! Maybe , I'll spring for a set of RPO B2E Fall Edition headlights.
Today, a ride in the country, gonna enjoy a farm crawl, a tour of different farms though the area.

My HHR had apparently had its left side head light fixture replaced recently while the right side is 8 years old. The difference is really obvious. I'm going to have to try one of those kits or search for a replacement also. I like that crystal clear new one. yup.
I used the headlight restore kit and came close as new but still not as good as the newer one.
edit: Say,which kit did you use on her car?

I had very good results use Sylvania's headlight restoration kit. It has a protective coating you put on when you have finished cleaning the surface. Other kits I have used did not include this. They looked like new when done. If you have Amazon Prime it cost $17.44
Thanks!
It can't hurt to try that, maybe next month, thanks! CA Blue!
Also today in my never ending search for rattles and clunks, unnoticed the hood seemed loose, upon inspection, I noticed the drivers side hinge was about an 1/8 from the little hinge stop bolt.
An 11 mm socket, an extension and a ratchet, a half turn , and it seemed tighter, another 1:4 turn and it's just right. No more clunk when I back out of the driveway or drive down the road. Even Sweetie noticed it was gone! (she was convinced the noise was coming from under the car, most likely the a swaybar link)
