I picked up the '08 from my buddy "Mr Cool" today. He replaced the AC condenser. Stopped by the car wash. I had full intentions of bringing my Corvan to a local car show today,
but what the heck, the little HHR should go to it's first show. Had a good time...john
Accumulating parts for my 2010 panel w/34K miles. Just picked up a set of step assists with hardware from a guy parting his, foglights and OEM switch from fleabay (still hunting down the correct plugs for the lights) and late today received a remote unlock fob (my truck was delivered sans keyfobs as it was a fleet vehicle) that I was able to program using a Dorman transmitter/programmer.
Cat Man, You are right, but you would have to understand this show. It's at a guys house ,who builds crazy ratrods, His latest is a 1951 Studebaker sedan with a 455 Buick motor. The show is not judged ,plenty of food and "beverage".
I saw guy's I haven't seen in 20 years. Probably 50 + cars and trucks . He has said my corvair TV van is one of his favorites. Just a good time for all... john
This was yesterday, we drove to Radford for the Radford Highlander festival. We took my 10. After spending the day trying to improve my walking I still wobble around some, and a nice trip home not on the interstate. When we made a stop just before we got home the DIC showed low left rear. It was low, so I refilled it with a battery powered I keep in the back because the right rear has a slow leak. I have not been able to find anything in the tire yet, I am hesitating trying to have it repaired as I am planning on putting new tires and wheels on by the end or the first of the week. I am trying to decide what tires I am going with. Si I guess will Keep the batter charged up and pump up the tire if I need to use it. FYI Ryobi makes a neat portable charger that works of their 18V Lithium One+ batteries. And as I have several of their tools it was a great choice. I found it lsst hear during the holidays at Home Depot for $20 and it has been handy.
Crap, I'll go out there next weekend, As long as I don't have to go for a ride in it. He admits that it is TOO dam fast. This guy built a two wheeler with a 289 ford motor back in 1978. He is a crazy genius !
I don't have pictures but many years ago I was at the Snodeo at Old Forge NY. There was a guy there that took a Manta snowmobile and put a 215 aluminum buick V8 in it hooked to a VW transaxle. When he ran it at the airport he would never even get close to third gear, it was that fast.
Here's another Manta Ray. http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2018...ncept-car.html
