Today up at 7:00 am then a coffee at Nauchet Light, and drove home from Cape Cod.
Home by 6:30 pm and the HHR is washed and dried, we turned 280,000 miles.
Drove down to a used car dealer and bought a "new to me" Dodge Ram 4X4 pickup truck... Yeah, I still have the HHR, and it finally gets to rest during the worst of the northern winters.
Over the last couple days, anyway. New to me 2010 panel, (now) 35K miles. Bought last month and have since installed OE foglamps and independent switch in the OE spot on the dash (wired to the low beams), a new Pioneer head unit with integrated SatNav and all the other goodies, and an aftermarket grille, with custom 23kt gold leaf lettering as a nod to the past.
I learned something the hard way the factory alloys of a 2007 will not fit a 2009 or a 2010. So I now have a set of factory alloys if some one is interested. I will put them on the buy/sell board. Live and learn. I have a set of 17" factory alloys on the way. Oh well--------------------------
Today I had to pull the power mirror switch that I put in over the weekend b/c the hole in the door trim was just a tad too small for the replacement I got. The switch that chooses the mirror to operate wouldn't rock back and forth. So I pulled it, filed a bit of the opening and popped it back in and now it works like a charm. I was going to replace the accessory outlet w/ a dual USB outlet, but it got late and I lost light so that and the turn signal stalk repair will have to wait until tomorrow night.
Not being a car guy AT ALL, normally these repairs would have me stressed about paying someone to do them and hoping they do it right. But for some reason, with my new HHR I feel like I can make these repairs myself w/o stressing or destroying my car.

I can't see how they wouldn't? I just put 2007 SS wheels on my 2010 LS. No issue. Went from the 17 to 18". What didn't work?
The full set of Ground Force lowering springs went in today and the new Cooper 225/55 tires are being mounted on the Eagle Alloy 16 inch mags... I have to use the best of the wasted Euromax mags for the full size spare... Close but not an exact match.
While inspecting the front end and doing the strut springs they found the ball joint on the left front was toast... Lifetime warranty lower control arms, only two years old, so that's being replaced for free. They are going to be putting sway bar bushings on as well.
Gotta love a competent shop and I get the same top mechanic working on my car every time now... They have about 5-6 guys, all good, but my HHR gets their best wrench.
