Oil change last weekend and now I find myself investigating an oil leak. Is there supposed to be a rubber o-ring at the base of the filter cap? I always use PF457G. I think I just answered my own question. LOL
Yes there is an Oring, some oil filters do not include one with their oil filter, some do. And sometimes the filter cap can crack from over tightening the cap. Most times though it’s the oring has a nick in it.
Well. Woke up this morning and looks like Hurricane Sally has turned more towards my area. Wind is blowing around 30 -35 now. Only going to get worse for the next 2 days.
Took this picture yesterday when I pushed the SS back a few feet so I could store my generator. I'll post a follow up pic after the storm passes.
FMG- Hang in there man, & stay safe. I don't think it's gonna be as strong as they say..

Today , our next door neighbour is having his cement sidewalk and back patio poured, so we decided it was to painful to sit and watch them.
Took a drive to go for walk then off for a coffee.
Yesterday we had our living room window and two bedroom windows replaced , so that was exciting!
Blue- nice upgrade glass. I know the new ones will insulate better, but I kinda like the old style living room one..

PittKrew- Yes you answered it. Just make sure the O-ring on filter cap & filter tip are lubricated, oil is fine, so neither doesn't chaff or get nicked going in. I wind mine in by hand, last I give a light tighten with my stubby socket..
Wow! The end of an era.
What year was yours? Perhaps you can get a ‘10 or ‘11.. or even get one of the really nice new Trailblazers... they’re really nice and economical too. Can’t beat the price for a new car.
I'd say under powered with a 3 cylinder turbo. one is a 1.2L & up-grade is 1.3L for whopping 155 hp.. Chevy dropped the ball on power.
And to get anything decent, like an RS version, you will be into $30K plus.. And still be down on power.

So now I just need to figure out where that O-Ring went!! LOL
Likely just pick one up at the parts store tomorrow...
Finally got some Internet service.
For those wondering how I did through the hurricane. We're fine. House is good. 10 acres of property is pretty much destroyed. Lost about half my trees. No power and all the roads were blocked.. Power will be off for a while.
The storm was much worse than the weather folks predicted.
I'll be back here when I can.
