Firemangeorge glad you all are OK !
Today installed 2 lift gate supports and 1 mounting bracket on the rear hatch of my sons HHR! Very easy :) I was surprised how easy those mounting bolts came out for that ball and socket bracket on the tailgate ! Now my kid won't bust his head on the gate lol

Late last night, thought I heard weird but low tone noise from our Side by Side fridge.. Finally I opened the freezer door & grabbed a small tub of ice cream, which usually is hard as a rock (my quick temp test) ... WRONG, ice cream was getting soft..

Yikes, Red Alert. Transfer as much as possible to our Deep freezer down the hall. And load the coolers & cover with ice & cap the lids.
Got confirmation compressor locked up.. Dead soldier, & after only 20+ years.

Get the Panel fired up to go shopping for a new one.. You would think a decent fridge should come fully stocked with the best Steaks & Lobsters for the prices they charge..
After sticker shock, we headed home with sales receipt & a delivery day of Saturday, & take away the dead soldier.

How was your day ?

And your new unit which cost at least 4 times what you paid for your old one will last half as long... "Progress"

Yep, exactly correct, ain't that special.. Our repair guy said long ago to keep this old one running as long as possible. Cause the new ones are all about the 'mother-board' & replacing that was crazy expensive.

So here I am sucked into the modern society of everything being disposable... Arrgh..

Hey folks. My fridge still works. Just having to run it off a 5500 watt generator. And that generator sucks down the gas !
Thanks for all the concerned posts. We're surviving down here. Nephew brought us a window AC to use. Hot and sticky was getting old.

Sorry for your freezer loss Sleeper! Hopefully that new one will out last the old one, but who knows.

FMG , a generator and A/C , way to keep cool until the hydro is stored!

Today , I’m gonna polish the headlights on the BlackSwan, borrowed the 3M kit from Dan . Should be fun!

Exactly why we bought one WITHOUT water/ice in the door 10 years ago. Icemaker in bottom freezer quit working over the summer and guess what; icemaker has no serviceable parts, I had to replace the entire icemaker. Two weeks ago, the compressor was making a clicking noise and the freezer wasn't freezing. Luckily, I only had to replace the compressor start relay which was simple fix. The old fridge (garage) has no circuit boards still spinnin' like a top!

FMG- Having a generator is always a Big plus. Good you have that, & now some window A/C. Hang in there man.. Main thing is you & yours are OK..
Saw some pics on the news. Whew. Bad. Thanks for the update.

Blue- Thanks man.. It was getting old.. A couple yrs ago the ice dispenser quit. So I had to do some internal plumbing, cause it began leaking. .. So we had been preparing to do an up-grade (hopefully that is what the new one will be). LOL
And remember, wax on--- wax off.. Mr.Miyagi

PittKrew- We opted for no ice dispenser in the door also, because of last one too. Mine was clicking & then low hmmm for 6 seconds, & then click off. I tested the start relay & it showed good. So was just hoping the compressor was not the issue. But of course it was..

I miss having a vintage garage fridge,.. Those are the best,..

My parents 1950 Lenard refrigerator keep the wobbly pops cold as ice, somebody offered me a C note for it , at a garage sale and I sold it. I miss that old fridge. It wouldn’t fit in with our new house. My air compressor is parked where the fridge was supposed to go, in my garage.

I didn’t get to the headlights yesterday, maybe today or tomorrow. I need to just chill for abit, maybe take a nice long cruise along the lake , stop for a burger and relax. Been a busy couple of months .
